MLGMA NextGen to Host Public Safety Seminar

The NextGen Committee will be holding a professional development day on Friday, May 9, 2014, entitled, “Public Safety, Police, Fire, EMS and Emergency Management. What you need to know, what you should know, and what you hope you will never know.” This information filled event will be held at the MML Lansing Office from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Experts from both big and small police, fire, and EMS agencies will discuss the public safety model; contracting for police services vs. your own police department; fire department models; recruiting; emergency management 101; and the manager’s role in emergency management.
